The leader of South West Somalia due to be elected on Monday

Delegates in Baidoa representing Bay, Bakol and Lower Shabelle regions are to elect the leader of South West Somalia- three regions tomorrow.

One of the presidential candidates Siyad Sheikh Omar Dahir told Goobjoog FM that the political tensions in Baidoa was so far resolved adding that delegates and the technical committee are busy on the state formation process comprising of three regions.

Mr. Dahir promised that he will give priority to creation of employment to the youth and repatriation of IDPs in Mogadishu to their places of origin if he is elected as the leader of the new administration.

On the other hand Mr. Dahir stated that the recent suspension of the conference by the top leaders of Somalia was unfortunate noting that it will not have any effect on the state formation conference in Baidoa.

Last week UN officials who reached the town took closed door meeting with the technical committee and traditional elders, they urged the committee to conclude the election process peacefully.

After the meeting one of the elders Mr. Shiino told Goobjoog FM that they agreed to hold the election on Monday.
