Three journalists arrested by Southwest intelligence in Baidoa

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: Reports from Baidoa city, in Bay Region say that three journalists from the Somali Journalists Association (SJS) were arrested by Southwest State intelligence officers on Wednesday morning.

A news release by the SJS union said that the trio, Mohamed Bulbul, Hanad Ali Guled and Mohamed Bishar Barre were detained at Baidoa Airport as they were traveling back to Mogadishu after completing a training session for journalists in Baidoa. 

Mohamed Bulbul is SJS Secretary of Human Rights; Hanad Ali Guled is the Secretary of Training and Mohamed Bishar is a media trainer.    

The Somali Journalists Syndicate has strongly condemned the arrest of the three journalists and called for the immediate and unconditional release of the journalists.
