Three regional lawmakers survive grenade attack in Jowhar

GOOBJOOG NEWS|JOWHAR: Three HirShabelle state MPs survived a hand grenade attack Friday but sustained injuries following an attack on the home of a regional administrator.

The MPs identified as Adan Mohamed Muse, Duwane Farah Ali and Osman Abdullahi Dhore are currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Jowhar.

Sources said unknown assailants hurled a hand grenade at the home of a regional administrator where the lawmakers were in Hantiwadag neighbourhood.

Lawmakers and other politicians have been meeting in Jowhar in recent days ahead of Senate and Lower House elections. There was no immediate comment from the regional government.
