August 4, 2015: Galmudug State government and Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) help local fishers of Hobyo town to have Identification cards to avoid assaults or detentions by antipiracy forces operating Somali shores.

August 6, 2015: Severe water shortage causes hardships to herdsmen and cattle in Elbur town of Galmudug state. 200 liters of water is reported to cost 22,000ssh ($1). The commissioner of the town speaking to Goobjoog News said he is alarmed by the situation of the area and appealed for immediate help.

August 12, 2015: Galmudug State high court’s chair Ahmed Yousuf resigns his position and informed the public that he is no longer the chair of high court.

August 17, 2015: Vice President of Galmudug State Mohamed Hashi Abdi accuses Puntland of disturbing the peace of Galmudug State by arming Alhlusna Waljama militias which opposes the newly established state.

August 18, 2015: Journalists working territories under the control of Ahlusuna Waljama controlled has down tooled in what they said is a protest, after the religious paramilitary forces closed-down two main radio stations in the region.

The journalists vowed not return their work until radio stations be allowed to provide the news services to people of the region, meanwhile the National Somali Union Journalist Organization condemned the Ahlusuna action and demanded the immediate release of detained journalists and to permit the airing of closed radio stations.

August 19, 2015: Galmudug state parliament gives 45 more days to the state president Abdikarim Hussien Guleed to form the state’s council of ministers . This came after the president faced difficulties to meet the deadline.

August 22, 2015: Galmudug parliament forms nine portfolio committees,

1. Etiquette, immunity and care committee

2. Constitution, reconciliation and interior committee

3. Judiciary and religious affairs committee

4. Public affairs Committee

5. Marine and Agricultural products development committee

6. Economic and Finance Committee

7. Seaports and roads Committee

8. Human rights, women and Humanity Committee

9. Boundaries and security committee

August 27, 2015: Galmudug State and a function of Alhlusuna reaches power sharing agreement to end months of disagreement. An armed wing of Ahlusuna still refuses to accept the power-sharing agreement and maintains antagonist resentments towards the state.

In the agreement Ahlu Sunna is afforded 25% of the cabinet, 30% of the parliament and 25% of the military positions.

August 28, 2015: Galmudug announces its first ever state government cabinet; president Abdikarim Hussien Guled formed a bloated cabinet with 24 minister, 24 deputy minister and 4 state minister, a move seen by political analyst to that the president meant to satisfy all the stake holder of the state.

August 29, 2015: an Iranian ship and 19 of its crew managed to escape from captivity by their captors after Five months of being under mercy of some of locals resident who called them fishers in Elhur, Mudug.
