August 7, 2015: Jubbaland President Ahmed Madobe and his deputy General Fartag signs a deal with prominent opposition members from Gedo region in the border city of Dolow.

August 8, 2015: Jubbaland President Ahmed Mohamed Islam (Madobe) replaced the governor of Gedo Mohamed Abdi Kalil with Mr Ahmed. Madobe sent several high ranks officials of his administration including his vice president to Gedo region in a bid to proceed with the process of state building and to hold talks with the traditional elders.

August 8, 2015: Ethiopian forces in Dolow arrests Jubbaland State health minister. He was arrested after he opposed the replacement of Gedo region governor Mohammad Abdi kalil.

August 8, 2015:Mohamed Kaliil – the replaced governor of Gedo region stated that he remains his post because it was recognized by Somali Federal government, adding that he could not be dismissed by president of Jubaland state, Ahmed Mohamed Islaam.

August 15, 2015: The incumbent president of Interim Jubba Administration, Sheikh Ahmed Mohamed Islam, better known as Ahmed Madobe was elected as the president of Jubaland state with 68 votes out of 74 in total votes casted . Hillowle Adan and Osman Hussein Fayruus came second with 2 votes as Mohamed Osman Yussuf came third place with zero vote.

August 17, 2015: A demonstration to support the reelection of Jubbaland president Ahmed Mohamed Islam was held in the main city of the State. Tens of his supporters waved flags and banner inside Kismayo as State president won the presidential elections of the state.

August 20, 2015:After a decade of dormant, the administration of Bardhere town and officials from Interim Jubba Administration, have officially opened the town’s airstrip.

Bardhere airstrip which was backbone for Humanitarian aid agencies and local flights has stopped operating after Al-Shabab fighters banned UN and other NGOs backed western countries from the areas under their control.

August 21, 2015: Jubbaland president said the next Somali parliament should be chosen by regional leaders rather than by elders favored by the president, the president of the strategically important Jubbaland province said in an interview to Reuters “Somalia is a federal government and regional states should make the selection of parliament. I am not for the idea that clan elders select lawmakers,” Jubbaland president Ahmed Mohamed Islam.

August 22, 2015:At least three of African Union peace-keeping mission (AMISOM) trainers have been injured after a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) exploded within SNA training school at former Kismayo University on Saturday.

The incident claimed lives of 11 people including nine Somali soldiers and two attackers and injuring six SNA soldiers according AMISOM twitter account.

Augusr 23, 2015: Jubbaland Authorities has banned one of the Somali private owned channels Universal TV from its territories.

The U.K-based private broadcaster Universal TV was shut down in connection with its alleged critical coverage of IJA administration according to an administration official Abdinoor.

August 30, 2015:A delegation led by Somali Prime Minister Omar Abdirashid Ali has on Sunday reached Kismayo, the administrative capital of Interim Jubbaland .

The premier and his delegation was received  by IJA leaders, MPs and traditional elders. The delegation is expected to hold talks with the leaders of IJA.
