July 1, 2015: Official ceremonies were held in several towns of Puntland state to mark the 55th anniversary of Somalia independence.
July 05, 2015 : Puntland said it would not recognize the newly-formed administration of Galmudug,
In an interview with BBC Somali Service, Puntland Information Minister Mohamud Hassan So’adde unveiled that Puntland will not mull a dialogue with Galmudug until Mudug ownership claims are rescinded.
July 08, 2015: Gardafuu administration of Puntlands has raised alarm over severe outbreak of measles which claimed lives of three children under five years age, in areas under Puntland state.
July 11, 2015: The leader of Interim Jubba Administration, Ahmed Mohamed Madoobe has reached the capital administrative of Puntland state where he took meeting with his counterpart president of Puntland, Abdiweli Ali Gaas.
July 12, 2015: Three people were reportedly burnt to death at dawn when their temporary shelter was gutted by fire at IDP camp named Camp 55 in the city of port Bossaso.
July 12, 2015: After taking it is normal meeting, Puntland regional parliament said that Puntland recognize the Provisional Federal Constitution (PFC) signed by six signatories with United Nations Political Office for Somalia represented as guarantor.
The regional parliament said, the bills approved by federal parliament are not legally binding and will not come into effect in Puntland.
Puntland Parliament clarifies that Constitutional Review Commission, Independent National Electoral Board, and Boundary and Federation Commission were found to be unconstitutional, and commissioners can’t operate in Puntland
4. Puntland parliament contested the formation of Galmudug administration in central Somalia, declaring it ‘illegal’ federal state which goes against article 49 of the federal constitution: “Only two or more regions my merge to form a federal member state”
5. Parliament speaker, Saed Hassan Shire announced that they will see if their decisions are respected in the next parliamentary session.
July 16, 2015: After president of puntland Dr Abdiwali Mohamed Ali Gas decree issued in this officially ordered to release prisoners convicted in a different crimes, Puntland ministry of justice set free 40 prisoners.
July 17, 2015: A delegation led Somali prime minister has reached Garowe to hold talks with Puntland leader on the rift between federal government and the regional state.
July 18, 2015: The President Abdiweli Mohamed Ali Gaas with a miniature delegation took off for Nairobi from Garowe, the capital of Puntland
July 18, 2015: Somali prime minister Omar Abdirashid who was on official visit in Puntland has paid visit to East Africa University which temporarily houses hundreds of Yemen refugees.
July 19, 2015: Garowe talks between the Federal Government and regional states of Puntland and Jubbaland the has bored no fruits after Abdiwali Ali Gas and Ahmed Mohamed Islam failed to recognise the newly formed Galmudug state.
PM Omar Abdirashid reportedly told the leaders that Galmudug would change its constitution which has an article that says Galmudug border runs into the Puntland territory.
July 19, 2015: Somali Prime Minister Omar Abdirashid travel to his hometown Qardho where he was planned to meet the elders of city.
July 20, 2015: The rioter police general of Puntland General Muhyadin Ahmed Moose has reportedly laid down arms and released his loyalists from his command.
In a ceremony attended by Puntland Dervishes commander General Saed Dhere, Ministers for Internal Security and Health and the commander for Special Forces General Jim’ale Takar, the renegade General handed over his arms including machinegun-mounted vehicles.
July 22, 2015: Serious water shortages are reported to hit many areas in Mudug region prompting displacement of many families from the region.
Among the areas the acute water shortage hit is El-Farah Gedi locality 10km away from Galka’ayo town.
July 29, 2015: Hundreds of protestors against sky rocket price of Khat (Miraa) took to the streets of Galkacyo.
The demonstrators who were mainly small scale Miraa sellers women have close d their kiosks to protest against Miraa importers who increased the price of the Khat.
They were waving placards with their demands in a demonstration as they were chanting “we don’t want blood suckers”
July 29, 2015: The former head of state of Puntland Abdirahman Faroole has accused the federal government of fueling political crisis in the country by trashing the constitution.
“We can only lead our people to prosperity through the constition, if we by-pass the same, I think we are only working towards creating animosity and conflicts. The federal government is therefore responsible for what we have witnessed in the country” said Faroole.
July 29, 2015: UN said the absence of the two leaders Interim Jubba Administration and Puntland was indicative of the need for more strong ties and collaboration between the various state actors in the country in order to build the country.
“Their absence, while a disappointment only reinforces the need to continue to build more and stronger bridges on the way to a united and democratic and federal Somalia,” said Kay.
July 30, 2015: Puntland State of Somalia has snubbed to attend the 2day High Level Partnership Forum held in Mogadishu due to what it has called in press released constitutional breach by Somali Federal Government.
“Let it be known, that it was the desire of the Government of Puntland to attend the HLPF which opened on the 29th of July in Mogadishu, but however, decided to abstain from the meeting based on the following concrete reasons and chronology of events that collectively demands the attention of all Somalis and our international partners” said in the press release.
July 30, 2015: More than 2000 Somalis from Yemen have reached the city port of Bossaso.
A cargo ship that was ferrying Somalis stranded in Yemen, has docked at Bossaso town.
The returnees who were mostly women and children have received canned food and water distributed by the administration of Puntland state.
