Traffic police officer shot dead in Bakarah market, Mogadishu

A traffic police officer has been shot dead by armed men at a junction in Bakarah market in Mogadishu.

Eye witnesses told Goobjoog News armed men carrying pistols shot at the officer and fled away from the scene.

Security officials cordoned off the area and investigations are underway.

The motive of the attack was not immediately clear but similar incidents have been reported in the area in the recent past.
