Two civilians killed in cross-fire between soldiers in Mogadishu

Two civilians have been killed and three others injured following a clash between security forces in Kaaran district in the outskirts of the capital Mogadishu.

Sources in the district told Goobjoog News the victims were caught in a cross-fire between Somali National Army soldiers and personnel from the intelligence agency NISA.

According to eye-witnesses, the two sides quarreled over a piece of land in Aden Ade village before a fire exchange broke out. There was no immediate comment from authorities but sources said the situation is now calm.

Clashes between the various security units in Somalia in not uncommon. The National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) and various military units have in the past been engaged in supremacy battles in the city. Similar fights have been witnessed among military units under different commands and training.
