GOOBJOOG NEWS|KISMAYO: A heavy explosion rocked the port city of Kismayo, Lower Juba region Monday night inside a restaurant causing fatalities and injuries.
Jubbaland administration spokesman Jama Ahmed said two people died in the blast, with ten others sustaining injuries and were rushed to various hospitals in Kismayo. Ahmed said investigations revealed a landmine had been planted in the restaurant named Agga Gali Beach where many people were having dinner.
Agga Gali restaurant is located in a neighbourhood in Qoryooley in the suburbs of Kismayo.
Jubbaland police and security forces went on hot pursuit against the perpertators, sources in the coastal city said.
No one has taken responsibility for the attack but it is presumed to be an assault by the Al-Shabab militia who are notorious for carrying out such attacks especially now that the country is heading for the elections.
