UPD chairman Hassan Sheikh Mohamud arrives in Kismayo

The chairman of the Union for Peace and Development (UPD) party Hassan Sheikh Mohamud Monday arrived in Kismayu the headquarters of Jubbaland state for a two days visit.

Jubaland State President Ahmed Madobe was among the Jubbaland state officials who received Hassan Sheikh Mohamud the 8th President of Somalia and the current UPD party chairman at Jubbaland airport in Kismayo town.

Mr Hassan Sheikh was accompanied by lawmakers and senators from the federal government of Somalia including Ahmed Maalim Fiqi, Hassan Yare, Senator Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail Fartaag and Senator Iftin Hassan Baasto.

According to Goobjoog News reporter in Kismayo  the delegations led by Hassan Sheikh are now at the guest house of Kismayo, located in the south-west of the city.

Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and his delegation are expected to hold meetings with state leaders and the communities of Jubbaland region for their two days visit to the region.

The UPD party was unveiled October 4, 2018, as a national party with more than 80 members of the two Houses of the Federal Parliament.
