UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs : I come to bring several messages to Somalia

United Nations Under-Secretary General Jeffrey Feltman in press conference after separate talks with Somali president and speaker of parliament said he come to offer condolences to those who killed in Lido-attack and Elade and to support the federal government’s decision on the 2016 electoral process.

Jeffrey Feltman said the decision by the Federal government to hold elections in 4.5 model was the product of wide range consultations and UN is in full support of it.

He also admitted that some of the states is out favor in 4.5 model saying no one got every thing they wanted.

When asked the UN’s take on punt-land which opposes the road-map of 2016 elections  he said the UN  is concerned about that.

he also welcomed the decision to give 30% quota from both houses of parliament to women ” The United Nation welcome the commitment 30% representation by women in both the upper-house and the lower-house”

Jeffrey Feltman is expected to convince Somali political leaders to agree on 2016’s political process.
