Unknown gunmen killed two administration police officers after attacking Tahmeed coach around Kona Mbaya forest as senior Lamu county officers confirmed to the media.

Local residents said that the bus tyres was sprayed with bullets which forced the bus to stop, thereafter the attackers faced the offers escorting the bus injuring many passengers on the spot.

“The gunmen sprayed the tyres with bullets forcing the bus to come to a halt ,several passengers were injured when the officers engaged the attackers, but were defeated as it was late,” said a survivor.

Most of the wounded passengers have been take to Malindi district hospital for treatment.

After this incident the gunmen attacked another car loaded with security officers and disappeared into the forest after meeting strong resistance from the officers.

No one claimed the responsibility of the attack but Al-shabab has severally said to have been behind attacks in Mpeketoni and Poromoko areas at Kenyan coastal region that killed over sixty people.
