Update: Five injured in car explosion in Mogadishu

A car loaded with explosives detonated near X-Cinema in Mogadishu as it followed by gunfire, five people were reportedly injured.

A Witness who spoke to Goobjoog News said that five pedestrians who happened to be near the blast during the explosion have sustained injuries.

Local residents say the explosion was aimed at a convoy of federal government forces in the area.

It was not immediately clear who was behind the explosion and shooting, but Al-Shabab has in the past claimed responsibility for such explosions in an attempt to topple the Western-backed government.
