UPDATE: Seven injured in Debka junction blast-police

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: Seven people were injured and several vehicles destroyed during the bomb blast at Debka Junction in Mogadishu, police has said.

The Somali Police Force said in a statement no civilian except the driver of the ill-fated vehicle was killed during the 9 am explosion. A vehicle loaded with explosives blew up minutes after 9 am when security forces at the junction fired after the driver failed to stop.

Eight vehicles and nine auto-rickshaws were destroyed during the blast that sent shockwaves within the city centre.
