Wajir Attack Killed 8 Kenyan Security Officers

Eight security personnel were killed on Sunday after Al-shabab attacked Wajir County North Eastern Kenya.

According to the police report, the officers perished after the vehicle they were travelling in ran over an improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Bojigara area at around 2:30pm.

Five administration police and three police reservist died while they were being rushed to the hospital.

According to eye witnesses, the militants opened fire at the injured officers killing them before absconding towards the Somali boarder.

A contingent of security officers from the General Service Unit (GSU) and Administration Police were deployed to manhunt the militants suspected to be hiding in the villages.
