Police arrests Armed men in Adado town

Somali police  have launched operations to weed out roadblocks set by armed groups in some parts of Galgaduud region.

Drivers of public service vehicles using roads connecting the towns of the region have been complaining increased illegal barricades that have been mounted armed men.

Omar Moalim Ali, Adaado police commissioner told Goobjoog News that Government soldiers apprehended eight gunmen who have robbing the passengers travelling within the region.

“Our forces in collaborating with the local administration have carried out operations to clear out all the roadblocks in these areas, we have managed to arrest 8 thugs who were robbing the passengers and they were disturbing the public, we are also trailing the remnants” he said.

He pointed out that they remove several blockades and hence now the roads connecting villages and towns are save and security.

Armed men with SNA uniform set up roadblocks to embezzle cash from drivers who constantly use the busy main highway connecting the towns of the region.

According to local sources, more than several roadblocks have been setup in the last few months.

The federal government carried out several operations to remove the illegal roadblocks set by the men dressed in military uniform but no change was so far felt according the owners and the drivers.
