Wanlaweyn District Commissioner injured in blast, son killed
GOOBJOOG NEWS/JOWHAR: A blast targeting the life of Wanlaweyn’s Deputy Commissioner Abdullahi Gadudow went off in his house Tuesday night in Wanlaweyn district, Lower Shabelle region, missing the District Commissioner by a whisker.
Abdullahi Gadudow, along with one of his bodyguards, escaped with injuries from the blast but unfortunately, his 20-year-old son got killed in the horrific attack.
Speaking to BBC Somalia, Abdullahi Gadudow said he had sustained slight injuries in the blast and was receiving treatment for the injuries.
Wanlaweyn security forces went to the scene of the blast and commenced investigations into the blast, with initial indicators pointing at Al-Shabaab who time and again have carried such kinds of attacks on government officials.
