War against Al-Shabaab, stabilisation top agenda in Hir-Shabelle cabinet meeting

GOOBJOOG NEWS|JOWHAR: Hirshabelle state president Ali Gudlawe today chaired a cabinet meeting which discussed security, and operations to liberate Al-Shabaab from the Hirshabelle areas, especially those along the Shabelle River in Hiran and Middle Shabelle regions among a range of issues.

The meeting also discussed the management of floods in the Shabelle River, the Stabilization Program Report and their progress, the Crisis Recovery Program (SCRP), and the Hirshabelle Health Plans, especially the Jowhar Hospital.

The Minister of Internal Security informed the Cabinet about the general security of Hirshabelle, the successes achieved in Al-Shabaab operations and the preparations for the second phase of operations to remove the group from Hirshabelle state.

Internal Affairs and Local Government minister also briefed the Cabinet on the progress of the Stabilization Program which is being implemented in the liberated areas so that the people can get government services.

The Deputy Minister of Education on his part briefed the cabinet on the recruitment of teachers, noting that the examinations for 400 hundred teachers, who will work in Hirshabelle areas, are coming to an end.

The Minister of State for Health and the Governor of the Middle Shabelle Regional Government shared with the Cabinet the situation in Jowhar General Hospital. The President thanked the cabinet and instructed them to speed up the difficult tasks ahead.
