Abdalle Samafale, CEO of Hiilbulsho Organization Charity, has earned widespread recognition for leading a humanitarian initiative that secured the release of nearly 200 prisoners who had been detained due to unpaid debts.
The effort was made possible through a fundraising campaign that brought together contributions from businesspeople, members of the Somali diaspora, and other generous donors.
A total of approximately $50,000 was raised and used to settle outstanding debts, allowing the detainees to regain their freedom.
Many of those released had spent extended periods in detention because of financial obligations they were unable to repay. Their release has reunited families and restored hope to hundreds of people affected by the situation.
Families of the former detainees expressed gratitude for the initiative, describing it as a life-changing intervention that gave their loved ones a second chance. Community members have also praised the project as a powerful example of compassion, solidarity, and social responsibility.
Abdalle Samafale’s efforts have been widely commended as a demonstration of how collective action and charitable giving can make a meaningful difference in people’s lives, particularly for vulnerable members of society facing financial hardship.
